
Tenant Move-Out Procedure Guide
Follow the checklist and guidelines below to ensure a smooth transition and avoid unnecessary delays, this helps us return the property in great condition for the next resident
Please ensure the following tasks are completed prior to your move-out date
Deep Cleaning – Interior & Exterior
- Clean all floors, baseboards, walls, and ceilings
- Clean all kitchen appliances inside and out (oven,
stovetop, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher) - Wipe down countertops and cabinets (inside and out)
- Remove all personal belongings and food
- Clean windows, tracks, and blinds
- Dust ceiling fans and light fixtures
- Sweep porches, patios, garages, and storage spaces
- Remove cobwebs and debris from the exterior entryway
- Scrub bathrooms: toilets, sinks, showers, tubs, mirrors, and tile grout
Repairs & Property Condition
- Repair any damage to walls,doors, screens,
fixtures, and flooring - Replace any burnt-out light bulbs and batteries in smoke detectors
- Patch and paint any holes from wall hangings
- Ensure all systems (plumbing, electrical,
appliances) areoperational - Lawn and landscape (if applicable): mowgrass, trim bushes, andremoveweeds
Trash & Debris Removal
- Remove all trash and unwanted items from the property, inside and out
- Do not leave bulk items curbside unless arranged with the city’swaste management
Move-Out Documentation
To Complete Your Move-Out Process
Log in to RentVine and complete your move-out form
This can be found under Overview – Lease Details in the tenant portal.
Provide your forwarding address for deposit processing
Enter your ACH information to facilitate a fast refund of your security deposit
We complete inspections after the move out has been completed. In the event a pre-move out inspection is needed please contact us within 14 business days of your move outdated to schedule
Security Deposit Reconciliation
California law allows 21 days from the date you vacate the property for us to reconcile your security deposit
You will receive a detailed itemization of any deductions, if applicable
Refunds will be issued via ACH (if provided)or mailed to your forwarding address
